I was curious about that, from what I can tell he was appointed head of the successor agency to KGB in 1998, but only served in that role for about one year before he was appointed Prime Minister in August 1999. I'll be.

Putin was never head of the KGB. You fail.
He served as director of the FSB, the KGB's successor agency. Hooray for you.
You're a dipshit.

Weird... The country responsible for the 2016 election interference as determined by the bipartisan Senate Intelligence Committee as well as every part of the Intelligence Community is saying someone else did it? It's not like their oligarchs are under crippling US sanctions from congress through the Magnitsky Act due to that interference. Putin desperately needs those removed to keep the oligarchs happy and in line. Removing the blame from Russia would give the pretext to remove those sanctions.
Russia is an adversary with essentially a dictator, that was a former spy during the USSR, who's main two goals are to rebuild the former Soviet Union and destabilize the west. Russia being an adversary has been the long held view of the Republicans and the country in general since WWII. Aside from that, they've literally invaded Ukraine and took over an area the size of Texas with a military wearing no insignia or flags identifying themselves in an attempt to maintain "plausible deniability". They've also been determined to have assassinated dissents and defectors on foreign soil. I'm absolutely blown away that, only since Trump has taken office, have so many of his supporters completely abandoned Russia's entire history towards us and believe they're now acting in good faith.

He was appointed head of the FSB by Yeltsin after the KGB was dismantled following that organization's involvement with the coup attempt against Gorbachev. Putin served in that capacity for about 3 years.
You struggle with getting facts straight and you resent it when someone points that fact out to you by making personal attacks. Typical.
