I think you make some great points here. It's certainly possible to be a patriot and want to leave a monumental legacy at the same time. They go hand in hand.
Agreed, Maslows hierarchy of needs, level 5, self actualization. Few people reach it, have everything and want to give back, Reagan is a good example, I think Trump is there as well.
