You should write the plot for the next Call of Duty.

Billitary brass are only concerned about career. War is opportunity.

Yep. That isn't a coincidence.

majority of officers are retards of the highest order. trust me, I served in the US Army Infantry for 4 and a half years and I have dealt with idiotic butter bars fresh from ROTC and the occasional west point graduate who had to be relocated from our platoon because the Company Commander hated his guts. The best thing about Infantry line companies is the NCO run it, the officers are just glorified radio operators who occasionally hand out article 15s.

To be fair, the reason we didn't use nukes during Cold War conflicts was bc of risk of global nuclear war with soviets.

There is no such fear of mutual assured destruction here.

The only reason tactical and strategic nuclear weaponry is not employed is because of fear of negative public opinion over the unavoidable collateral civilian fatalities.

Same reason we no longer utilize massive strategic concentrated incendiary bombing campaigns (....Dresden....)

We don't "do" total war any longer... but you are correct that it is undeniable that "total war" is much more effective than limited conflict. This has proven true from Vietnam onward in the era of modern post-nuclear arms. Limited war is limited indeed.

Majority? naw

But many are. In the Navy there are far fewer retarded officers, but there are some. To be fair the incompetent officers do get processed pretty quickly.

As I was stating before. On ships, we have fewer NCO's. The role they fill with the grunts and meatheads, are filled by the Chiefs onboard ship.

Every NCO I have dealt with has been extremely capable, though. My last LPO became an NCO. He died in a motorcycle accident few years back. Matthew Viscusie was his name. Great guy.

Anyone advocating the use of nukes is a despicable human being. The collateral damage in civilian lives lost is just unthinkable, man.

The fear of negative public opinion would not have been there right after 9-11. The American public was mad as hell and looking to hit back. They would have supported whatever we did.

Well then count me as despicable. I would rather it be their people suffering than ours. I'd hit the terror camps, poppy fields, Tora Bora and any other deserving targets.

No innocents there. Indeed there probably aren't a hell of a lot of them in the whole country. We lose people for all kinds of reasons. IED's. Snipers. So called friendlies. frick them.
