I disagree with this and would still vote against him but I understand it.
If Strange wins Trump can tell him "You won because of me and would have lost if not for me, now you have to vote exactly the way I say". Strange wouldn't be able to claim independent maverick status
This will backfire if Roy Moore wins anyway. Not only would the media use that against him, but Roy Moore would be able to claim that independent maverick status in the mold of a Ben Sasse or Mike Lee
