This pretty much sums up American policy in the Middle East since the end of the Second World War.
Somehow, there are still large segments of this country's electorate who choose to believe that our "work" over there is meritorious or effective. We have done nothing but taken the baton from the British and French and made the shitshow our problem instead of theirs.
No one there wants our help. And to the extent that anyone in the region wants American support, they want our weapons. They don't want our system of government, our ideals, or anything else. Of course they will take our money.

And the media and MIC is playing along dutifully with his anti-establishment charade. He just opened our check books and basically wrote a blank check to the MIC. He's kept the establishment agenda in the Middle East going for two plus years now, even expanding it into Yemen, while he ring-leads the propaganda distractions, muh Russians, muh kneeling, muh liberal filth, muh caravan....
As former Minnesota Governor Jesse Ventura said it best: "It's show business."
This is how the establishment plays good cop/bad cop. You folks act like this is all new to you. Like you've never seen this play out before.

Best think trump has done as president is brought a common sense approach to foreign policy.
-Make NATO members pay-up.
-Bring Troops home.
-Bring peace to Korea.
-Build an anti-Iran coalition with Israel and Saudi.
