Well, that blows Dick Morris' theory. He thought that Gowdy would hang out on the 4th Circuit Ct of Appeals until an opening on the Supreme Court came available.

He was a year ahead of me in high school but I knew his family well and tried probably 20 cases against him when he was the solicitor for the 7th circuit and I have a feeling he is headed back to upstate SC for a while. He just always struck me more as a courtroom guy than a political animal at least for the long term.
