you'd have to get through the GOP primaries with these issues first, and libertarians are still outnumbered. Still lots of drug warriors and 'Merica types among the Republican base.

Doesn't matter what issue Republicans focus on. The media will spin it so that it hurts the working class and those dependent on the government. They can't win anymore. Too many people expect something for nothing. And if they are getting it with one party, why change it? The work ethic of this country in gone.
