Better question, where did "hundreds of CEOs" become involved. It was mostly politicians.
I think you have the answer in your question. I don't think the CEOs get involved without FIRST being given the 'cover' by corrupt politicians.
They could be individually corrupt, but they would not have risked coordinating it with others - UNLESS they had the 'protection' that only the politicians can provide.
The 'CEOs' were probably 'recruited' into the 'pizza party' by already corrupt politicians in order to not only help finance their parties but then have blackmail targets for further political corruption.

You take option 1 man.
Burn it all down. These creeps need to be exposed. It doesn’t matter which side of the aisle you are on.
I would think this is the one issue we should all be united on.
The world survived the Great Depression. We can do it again.

Option 1.
And I would hope that ABC Widgets fires the employee and then someone like either Gary Plauché or Bernhard Goetz finds the pervert fired employee.

Neither option is realistic. The federal government will never give up the material the public wishes to see. They will hold on to it. It's pure gold as blackmail material.
Right or wrong, like it or not, thats the reality.

Maybe the growth of Microsoft, a very problematic system to start with, was directly tied with blackmail of Pedo ?

That is what is needed to weed out this malaise that has infected way too much of our population - people in that age did their own charity - and they did not waste it on the unappreciative or the irresponsible. Told the story many times - I was born in the depths of the Great Depression and grew up in its recovery - my earliest memories are of hobos coming about the house and asking for food - my mom would tell them to go do some 'work' while she fixed them a meal - she fixed a great mean = fantastic cook.
I once asked her = 'why have them do that? - those are things that I am supposed to do" = she said = "It makes them feel better about themselves if the earn it."
That was my very first 'life lesson' - has stayed with me over 80 years.
I can think of no better adage for the dispensation of "charity"
