The fool says in his heart, “there is no God” -Ps 14:1

1. Throwing Bible verses at an atheist to affect behavior is a waste of time, as we don’t consider the Bible authoritative.
2. Psalm 14 (and it’s copy psalm 53) isn’t referring to philosophical atheism, which really didn’t exist when the psalms were written. There were no atheists back then. Paul quotes this psalm in Romans 3:10-12 and it was about people sinning because they rejected the authority of Yahweh or Elohim, not because they didn’t believe that deity existed. So as always you take verses out of context.

quote:

One day you will enter into everlasting torment, deserving every bit of suffering

Infinite eternal torturous punishment for a finite thought crime, because “God” expects belief in him despite no positive evidence for his existence and despite evidence proving the Bible is complete mythology. If that’s how your deity operates, then he is neither just nor loving. Fortunately that jealous psycho doesn’t exist - in reality.

I’m not trying to prove He exists to you. His existence is clear. I’m simply warning you of the judgement to come if you don’t do what you were created to do.

God is love, but He is also just. His justice demands punishment for sin, which is why Jesus received wrath and punishment for sinners in our place. Forgiveness is not free, though it is freely given to us, because of justice. God’s love is exercised through Jesus, as our offenses against an infinite God require an infinite punishment. It is only by punishing sin in the God-man Jesus that we can be forgiven.

I’m no longer trying to convince you of this, because there is nothing I can say to you that will remove your blindness in itself. It is only the work of God, showing mercy to you by His Spirit, working through the proclamation of the Gospel that will change you. And yet you will not be blameless if you do not repent. You willingly reject the truth and you will be condemned for it, as you are condemned already.

So again I say, repent and believe in Jesus for the forgiveness of your sins before you suffer the perfect justice of God against your crimes.

A proper warning needs to be persuasive. If i have no reason to believe your warning, then it fails as a warning and was for nought.

quote:

God is love, but He is also just

I feel I adequately argued that I demonstrated that your make believe deity is not love and is not just. So simply turning around and stating that he is love and is just without any evidence or reason or logical arguments simply isn’t convincing.

quote:

His justice demands punishment for sin

Why? Y'all need to make up your mind if he is going to punish or to forgive.

quote:

Depends who you believe. Paul tended to believe in the Enochian-influenced gnostic gospel of the ascension of Isaiah that Jesus willingly let the demons in the sky kill him as part of a secret plan which was hidden from everyone including the angels until it happened. The author of Hebrews viewed Jesus as a substitutionary atonement to make up for there no longer being a temple (instead of goats and bulls sacrificed in the earthly temple, Jesus was a more powerful sacrifice and was sacrificed in the heavenly temple). The author of Mark called Jesus’ death a ransom. May early church fathers believed this payment was made to the devil (why would God have to pay the devil anything???). The writers of the other gospels had all their own reasons for why Jesus had to die. You hate the Bible because it says so many conflicting things, so you elevate your own dogma over the Bible and then cherry-pick the Bible verses that confirm your position while rejecting the rest.

quote:

I’m no longer trying to convince you of this

Come up with a convincing argument with evidence and facts. My mind is always open.
