I don’t consider Gaza an autonomous country. It’s basically an open air prison with Israel controlling the prison walls.

Hamas has their own state. Its led by retards, whom the Palestinian people support.
The Palestinians do not want a two state solution. You people are fricking idiots.

The idea still baffles me.

Do you consider the Oslo Accords as having offered a two-state solution?
Posted on 11/4/23 at 9:28 am to LuckyTiger
It honestly doesn’t even make sense. They basically live in a two state solution as it is. These problems will obviously just exasperate if they expanded on it. This is totally a democrat thing to say and democrat solution. One that actually makes everything worse, just like most of their policies

No they don’t.

You seem to feel strong about this. What would be your solution for Gaza?

Wonder who's fault that perception is...

Both sides are at fault with respect to that issue.

Their former prime minister Sharon and his government gave it up in order to get Bush and the US to recognize some of of their illegal settlements in the West Bank. It was a clever move if the intention is to prevent a two state solution (it is their intention)

I don’t have a solution and I’m not sure that one exists. This is a total mess all around. The only thing I’m sure of is that the USA is bankrupt and can’t afford to get into territorial disputes in the Middle East and it’s none of our business. Anyone in the US claiming they have the answers or solutions to a +1000 year territorial dispute is bullshitting and should be regarded as suspect.

Then why the angst?
Israel was attacked, Hamas will be eliminated. Whats the angst?

I gotta say, I agree with that assessment completely.

The dispute is barely 100 years old.

No angst. I’ve simply pointed out that there is enough frickery going all around and that this is a very complicated and deep rooted issue and no amount of stateside “sloganeering” is going to erase that.
Posted on 11/4/23 at 9:57 am to Mo Jeaux
It’s actually older than I stated according to Hamas charter. They view the conflict beginning before the Crusades.

No, it isn’t. Not at all.

Do you think they know that Hamas rejects the two state solution and is committed to a one state solution?
It’s very hard to have two states when one state wants the other state annihilated
