There is no way to drain the swamp

That is a useless metaphor. First off, everyone knows that wetlands are federally protected habitats, so if you are going to drain one it takes an act of congress. Second, why would you drain one? The creatures will just move inland and take up residence in other similar terrain, possibly with adverse side effects. Third, the creators can also adapt to a new environment and just remain, but be even more prolific or disruptive. Fifth, other creatures possibly worse will emerge in the new environment.

All you are really doing is removing one set of problems and replacing them with another.

You may not be aware than there is a particular strain of mosquito that thrives in dry climates. So if you are trying get rid of them try again.

You are correct on one point: draining the swamp is worthless unless you do something with the creatures that inhabit it.

You either cage them, kill them or send them some place far, far away where they can no longer cause you any harm.
