From drudge. This guy is a big timer in the GOP. This won't fly with NRA Florida and Marion Hammer. Should make for an interesting battle.

They’ll just have to deal with losing his money. They’ll risk being voted out if they support gun control. It’s rooted in emotion only, and I’d rather vote for a politician that votes for logical policies.

Al Hoffman Jr., a Florida-based real estate developer who was a leading fund-raiser for George W. Bush’s campaigns, said he would seek to marshal support among other Republican political donors for a renewed assault weapons ban.

So, he's just a neocon deep state progressive with an R next to his name.

And, likely a never-Trumper teaming up with dems and other progs to attack Trump and push for disarmament.

Good riddance. Go die now.

That’s cute. Basically 75% of all bumper stickers in Louisiana back in 2005 had: W the president.

My oh my, how times have changed.

Right. Before he expanded the government more than any president before him. I think it also might have had something to do with straight partisanship, considering the people he ran against.

Oh, I bet not. I'm sure the old fricker gave a shitload of money to Jeb and other uniparty neocons.

This old dude knows he's tilting at windmills.

"Mr. Hoffman acknowledged it was “not likely” that he would succeed in making the party more open to an assault weapons ban, and said Republicans were too beholden to the National Rifle Association."

So do votes. And if they get voted out for voting in gun control then it doesn’t matter if he gives money or not.

Yeah, sounds like a real staunch conservative - spouting the DNC talking points.
