The National Emergency is a show pony, I’m convinced

I’ve been wondering why Trump would declare a national emergency when he could get 6B from DHS and DOD, while admitting that they will use that $ first and wouldn’t use the appropriated $ and emergency $ until after... so my only thought is it’s mainly for 2 things
1. It gets opponents of the wall to focus lawsuits on the national emergency rather than the reappropriated $ from DOD and DHS
2. It’s good politically as democrats and media attack him for trying to protect the country.

So while Dems and media freak out about the national emergency, a few hundred miles of wall will be being built that doesn’t have contingencies
