So, this could get interesting.

But wait, there's more.
So in a four candidate race, there is a chance 3 get booted and the 4th already quit.
Also, what does this mean for Shephard's current gig on the Jefferson Parish School Board, if a judge has now found he lives in Mississippi?
Oh, and Mr. Lee is the councilmember that caught some flack recently. He wanted to use his council slush fund (i.e. government dollars) to pay for t-shirts for kids at a government summer camp, but welched on the deal when he was told he could not advertise his name on such shirts.

A judge on Monday ruled that Jefferson Parish School Board member Derrick Shepherd cannot run for Jefferson Parish Council's 3rd District seat, siding with a suit filed last week that challenged his candidacy by alleging that he lives in Mississippi rather than Marrero.
That would seemingly leave incumbent Parish Council member Byron Lee, the incumbent candidate, as the winner of the council seat. But the same judge, Danyelle N. Taylor of the 24th Judicial District Court in Gretna, was hearing a challenge to Lee's candidacy as well Monday afternoon.
But wait, there's more.

Last week, Larry Collins, a Republican, was disqualified after a judge ruled that he had improperly filed state taxes. A fourth candidate, former Jefferson Parish School Board member Simeon Dickerson, dropped out of the race.

You don't have to pay. You just have to file.
As stupid as that sounds, I'm not making it up.

GeauxVote has him listed as "withdrawn" so I guess it's official.
