It'l be close since half the nation is either in serious moral or mental decline with likely 40% wanting something for nothing. And that is today's democrat party. So yeah they've got a chance. And the more absurd the policies (if they ever get around to actually floating anything other than hate) the better the appeal to their mob.
If there is any hope left for "those people" it is this: Even lynch mobs were made up of many otherwise normal people who went about their lives in a somewhat reasonable fashions after their hate and passions were dulled with time.
