Yes, the people who lived there thousands of years ago WERE quite advanced. But, considering the fact that they were a part of what appears to be a global, lost civilization, it's pretty hard to say who actually invented much of anything really.

In any event, there were Africans doing brain surgery several thousands of years ago. And yes, that is accurate.
