Those 10 words – deserving of a top listing in the Hall of Fame of Political Blunders – may prove to be the turning point in a race in which McAuliffe was expected to cruise to victory, especially since Joe Biden won the blue state by more than 10 points on his way to the presidency in 2020.
I couldn't believe my ears when he said that........

Well, most Democrat voters have government jobs, work in education, or sit at home and collect a check from the government. It’s not exactly loaded with common sense people.
This isn't true though.
For the first time in 2016, college-educated whites voted for Democrats over the Republicans. In 2020, college-educated white voters voted for the Democrats over Republicans by over 15 points. College-educated white voters earn more than non-college-educated white voters and most of them don't work in education or government.
For the first time ever in 2020, Republicans lost high-income voters to the Democrats. Among voters making over $100,000 a year, 56% of them voted for Biden and 43% voted for Trump.
That to me is insane. Republicans should not be losing college-educated white voters and high income voters. These are demographics that voted for Romney by over 10 points. Yet there was a 10-15 point swing between 2012 and 2016 and a 20 point swing in 2020 compared with 2012.
