Last week, after Spicer became aware that information had leaked out of a planning meeting with about a dozen of his communications staffers, he reconvened the group in his office to express his frustration over the number of private conversations and meetings that were showing up in unflattering news stories, according to sources in the room. Upon entering Spicer’s second floor office, staffers were told to dump their phones on a table for a “phone check," to prove they had nothing to hide.

So.... It's not just the intelligence agencies or Obama holdovers?

It's within the house!

What exactly is your point here?

This was a Politico story, is CNN in your head that much?

I wonder if even having the encrypted messaging apps on your phone will now be grounds for termination.

I don't know if I'd want the job that bad to be susceptible to random phone checks.

That fake news is only fake when they don't like it. Even OpEd can be fake news nowadays.

Right, Govt devices of course they can check.

Even with my clearance, I'd quit if someone tried to check my personal phone w/o a warrant.

They were obviously people in the room.

Spicer's non-denial pretty much confirms this for me.

The White House should be happy if there are leaks. Then the American people find out about their intentions. Disagree with them. Then the White House has a chance to say it was fake news and change their intentions.

Trump has a different mindset... If something or someone fails change it and move on. Just like any construction job superintendent. It's not like any other admin ever.

Article I saw said they mandated turning over the phone whether it was government-issued or personal.

It's a little early to be getting this paranoid. Gonna be a long four years for Spicer

Right, they had to consent to give access to their personal devices. They weren't LEGALLY required to grant that access.

It's questionable if they could be fired for not granting access to their personal devices.

Like when he found out that Flynn lied and he still kept him as Nat Sec Advisor.... until the press found out about it?
