Assorted tweets and topics that may be interesting. The last bit is about an article detailing how Schumer and McConnell, and Biden, worked over Mike Johnson for the foreign aid package, and how Trump got played again.

DC establishment Republicans that just

*voted to spy on you without a warrant,

*sent $100 billion of your money overseas, and

*bought the corrupt FBI a new headquarters,

would love for you to be quickly distracted by their virtue signaling over campus protestors in tents.

Speaker Johnson enlisted a majority of Democrats to override a majority of Republicans so he could:

1) pass an omnibus that spends more than Pelosi did, including a new FBI building.

2) reauthorize warrantless spying on Americans

3) send $60 billion to Ukraine

Unforgivable.

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene????
@RepMTG
Permanent funding for Ukraine is exactly what they want and Mike Johnson will give it to them.

Peace is not an option for them because it doesn’t fit the government appropriations war business and economic model, which is vile and disgusting.

They’re plan is keep funding the proxy war with Russia in Ukraine and when that doesn’t work, after all the Ukrainian men have been slaughtered, next they will put American troops on the ground.

Johnson will do whatever Biden/Schumer want in order to keep the Speaker’s gavel in his hand, but he has completely sold out the Republican voters who gave us the majority.

His days as Speaker are numbered.

Article describes how Biden, Schumer, and McConnell absolutely rolled Johnson on Ukraine funding…

and how they plan to do it again.

Here are some cliffs and quotes from that politico piece:

How McConnell and Schumer beat hardline conservatives on Ukraine
The two Senate leaders and the White House worked tirelessly for the better part of a year to get direly needed aid for Ukraine. It finally paid off.

McConnell: “I don’t want to take a bit away from Chuck. He didn’t have any Ukraine problems, I had all of them. But, we agreed on the overall goal,” McConnell said in an interview on Tuesday. “It was not possible for him to help me with my members. Nor was it possible for the president to help me with my members. It was a Republican family argument.”

Beyond the intraparty GOP battle, though, Congress’ passage of $60 billion in aid for Ukraine traces back to something simple but rare in modern politics: an ironclad pact of trust between leaders of opposite political parties. It’s all the more surprising given the years of animus between Schumer, the majority leader and relentless political tactician, and McConnell, the outgoing minority leader celebrating what may be his foreign policy coda as the top Senate Republican.

Schumer and McConnell made two consequential agreements that aided the Biden administration’s foreign aid request over the seven-month saga: keeping Ukraine assistance bound to Israel aid, and eventually moving forward together on a package without a border security component.

The synchronicity effectively “pulled the rug out from under the right wing guys,” as Schumer put it.

“We never deviated,” Schumer said on Tuesday of his partnership with McConnell. “We talked to each other every other day about strategy or what to do or what could happen. And it shows you when you have a bipartisan force, it can get things done.”
So, both parties have completely abandoned the border. Schumer tells us how the Democrats operate: "we never deviated". Of course not. Why would they? They own the Republican Speaker.

That’s true over in the House, too, where Speaker Mike Johnson and Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries are still building their partnership but delivered the same goal. And people here will keep making excuses for Johnson.

The two Senate leaders and the Biden White House developed surprisingly solid relationships with Johnson, who had to overcome his own history of opposition to Ukraine funding as a rank-and-file member to even allow a vote to come to the floor — plus a daily threat to his job security. McConnell steadily found common cause with Johnson, who “neutralized the former president on this issue,” in McConnell’s words, by appearing with Trump earlier this month and tweaking the bill.

“That changed everything,” said Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), who voted against the initial Senate bill but flipped his vote for the final legislation.
Trump got played....AGAIN. As always.

Biden directed his senior aides to employ a two-pronged strategy: privately make clear to Johnson the stakes for Europe and the rest of the world if Russian President Vladimir Putin claims Ukraine, leaning heavily on intelligence — and lay off attacking the new speaker. Counselor to the President Steve Ricchetti spoke to Johnson regularly in the month before the bill neared the president’s desk and served as Biden’s conduit to Jeffries, too. So they sent intel garbage, which is probably just made up PowerPoint slides and altered comms logs, and Johnson completely caved.

Biden’s aides worked to sweeten the deal for both parties, helping Johnson craft a key component that sells off Russian assets, restructures some of the foreign aid as a loan and cracks down on TikTok. Johnson is hot garbage. Total coward and an idiot.

Congressional Democrats and the president had to show patience and doggedness — and for Biden, that meant not browbeating Republicans that Democrats believed would eventually get to yes.

“Even if it would be a day of momentary political advantage to get out and beat the shite out of them, he didn’t,” Schumer said of the president.
Biden can't even speak. Schumer might be the worst and most duplicitous piece of garbage ever in the Senate, next to Lindsey.

White House closely consulted with congressional leaders and the House’s national security hawks like Chairs Mike Turner (R-Ohio) and Michael McCaul (R-Texas). These guys are nothing but mouthpieces for the IC and the MIC. They don't even attempt to represent constituents.

Vance, perhaps unsurprisingly, believes it is unlikely Congress will pass another package of similar size again. Schumer, however, sees something to build on.

“I feel I’m in a unique position. After McConnell goes, I’ll be the leader with the most experience. I have my caucus behind me, but I am able to make it work with Republicans. And you put all that together, and I think we’ll be able to do it again,” Schumer said.
They will manipulate Trump and they already own Johnson. An emboldened Chuck Schumer is more dangerous to this nation than China.

If we don't purge Congress at the ballot box in November, we will end up sending trillions to Ukraine, nothing to our border, and our Constitution will be shredded.

“But bit we only got a few votes muhjordy! We really can’t do nothin!”

The results are always the same, but the excuse moves around a bit. And when I don’t vote because of it, and the R Party loses their asses, they’ll be OK - they’d rather lose than do the right thing.

I see the Turtle received the required indulgences for his caucus before working over MJ ….. and still no progress on the Border crisis.

McConnell, a swamp dweller for nearly 35 years, has single-handedly destroyed the conservative legislature….. and in the process he killed attempts by the Freedom caucus and the MAGA caucus to reform the corruption that permeates DC.

That almost sounds like one of those planned leaks to try and make Johnson look not so bad and put some blame on Mitch, who can absorb it more easily.
