I couldn't care less that Shepard Smith (or anyone else) is gay.
I don't want to debate his "ideas;" I just want to hear the news.
His is not an opinion program; it's a [breaking] news show.
I don't need to be scolded nor told how I ought to respond to current events.
My preference in a news anchor is someone like Bill Hemmer, whose political party affiliation is completely unknown to me.
