A former security director for the Senate Intelligence Committee has pleaded guilty to one count of giving a false statement to FBI agents looking into leaks of national security information to several reporters, the Justice Department announced Monday.

James A. Wolfe, 58, was in charge of maintaining all classified information from the executive branch to the Senate panel. He served as the panel's security director for 29 years.

"Did you make a false statement to the FBI?" D.C. district court judge Ketanji B. Jackson asked Wolfe in court on Monday. Wolfe had been scheduled to appear for a routine status hearing, before prosecutors announced that "substantial" negotiations had produced a guilty plea.

"I did, your honor," Wolfe responded.

Pussy is a powerful weapon.

Earlier this year, the New York Times revealed that federal investigators had seized years' worth of email and phone records relating to one of its reporters, Ali Watkins. She previously had a three-year romantic relationship with Wolfe, the Times reported, adding that the records covered a period of time before she joined the paper. Watkins worked previously for BuzzFeed, Politico and McClatchy.

Wolfe's contacts with Watkins specifically did not appear related to the charge he admitted on Monday to lying about.

Wolfe allegedly exchanged "tens of thousands of electronic communications" with one reporter, including one that read, ""I've watched your career take off even before you ever had a career in journalism. . . . I always tried to give you as much information that I could and to do the right thing with it so you could get that scoop before anyone else . . . ."

If someone could develop a bomb that could be dropped on an army that makes them all act as stupid as pussy does a shot would never have to be fired.

He plead guilty to lying to FBI....THAT'S IT! Dude leaked 85 pages of a fisa to the reporter and is denying all of that and will not get charged for it. I just don't get it. He's getting a plea bargain and getting off on leaking classified information...just like the Awan kid got lying on a bank app when he was guilty of so much else.

There better be some rolling on the deepstaters happening with these people. If not, this proves the DOJ and FBI cannot be trusted to investigate this or anything else going on because they are compromised. This would then justify the need for a special counsel. How else can people break these laws that are so serious and get plea bargains down to nothing. This guy gets 0-6 months of jail or probation. That's bullshite.

When I read these reports about the amount of electronic communications between these Washington people, it boggles my mind that they spent all this time communicating. Did these people do anything in their job besides sending emails and texts to each other?

Hey 88, You think this might have something to do with the fact his lawyer wanted to bring the senators on the committee to testify? Hmmm wonder if he was just an errand boy, and the snatch on the side was a fringe bene?

The Awan shat pisses me off as well. Horseshat on that.
