Till it gets in the shy you might see it

Have you ever been in a situation where there are a few trees that you are around and a military helicopter or jet is flying low? The sound you hear is generally a bit different than where they are flying. Now imagine you are in a field and this comes in at say 60 mph and you don’t even have a clue where the sound is coming from let alone picking it up from a sunlit shy or in the night sky?

I could hear it two miles away though
