Putin knows Trump is going to win. Either he’s slow playing knowing funding will stop, or, he knows a peace deal is coming and is ready for it to be over because no one supports it.

I think that will mean an encirclement of Kiev. Not a siege, not seizing the city, just an encirclement.
Basically impossible with the easy-to-use tank busting tech the Ukrainians have. Warfare strategy will never be the same after this Russia-Ukraine war.
Basically, you can't invade a country anymore without destroying it first.

I don’t know why Russia hasn’t blown his plane out of the sky over the Atlantic in international waters.
Kings don’t kill kings. It would be bizarre. It also wouldn’t help them in anyway. It does nothing for them.

or destroying the Ukrainian military at this point, at least by conventional means
They can’t do it with maneuver warfare, they don’t have enough men, but they can defeat Ukraine in a war of attrition by imposing lopsided casualties on the Ukrainians. The Russians are better trained, better equipped, and at this point likely more experienced on average, and they have a striking advantage in firepower.

I don’t think Russia is capable of encircling Kiev or destroying the Ukrainian military at this point, at least by conventional means. It was a distinct possibility had they fully mobilized prior to invading but that time has long since passed. That was a colossal misreading of their own capabilities and how they thought they could be welcomed by the Ukrainian people.
I don't know where you're getting your info, but it's terribly off the mark.
