You don't leave 10,000 Americans to be slaughtered. I don't give a frick what kind of force it takes to get them out. You get them out. Regardless of who approved the troop withdrawal, the final stage is a complete absolute frick up by Biden and his team. ANY and I mean ANY frick hole who thinks we should abandon 10,000 Americans needs to be packed up and dropped on Afghanistan.
And once the last American is out, I don't see a need to ever revisit the middle east ever again.

I'm always hesitant to speak about military operations that will put our soldiers/marines in harms way, because I've never served. And I have no idea if the Taliban plans to start executing Americans that they find outside of the airport. But if that starts happening, I don't know how you don't start raining hell on these frickers.
Again, it isn't my arse on the line, and I can't speak for our guys in uniform, but I would imagine that they would want to do the same. Perhaps some vets can give their opinions? Are these people worth risking your life for, even knowing that most of them are in this situation because they stayed too long?

That is only a winner if one believes in unicorns. At this point, there are limited options if the Taliban play hardball. That's the truth, maybe the Taliban will continue to be generous.
The new Afghan government controls the field of play with very few options.
You don't have to like it, but its the truth.

Nowhere in that quote did it even hint at an "endless war".
Did you even understand what you read? Do you understand the context?
"Shooting at people who look at us wrong"
We've been doing that for 20 damn years.
Just to push them back we have not yet attacked them is such a way as to either have them totally capitulate or be annihilated to where they can no longer wage war. We simply compartmentalized our objectives and let the survivors flee to fight another day. Same thing the Brits and Soviets did and these people view this as a weakness.
Since WWII the only actions in which we went all out to achieve our objectives and fight in a way to do so were Urgent Fury, Just Cause and Desert Storm. My guess is because Americans no longer have the stomach for winning a war, as sometimes winning a war is more costly and painful than losing a war. The fact that the Taliban is still around after 20 years is failed leadership and planning at the highest level.
Just my take from what I learned from the NWC back in the day, but hey. who am I.
Anyone that has read SUN-TZU's prose would clearly agree with my statement. The goals, purpose, objectives and brutality of war have not changed much since the dawn of time.
Note - The Japanese were some of the most warlike people on the planet until late summer 1945.
If you're going to fight, fight to fing win your enemy be damned.
Bottom Line - we never played to win.

The hard on you guys to pretend you're Rambo is scary. Come back to reality.
You are talking about human life and acting like Rambo actually exists, listen to the insane comments just in this thread.
