Good luck. You won't use the gulf. And who you gonna call when the Mexicans take back their land?

No one is naive about it.
It’s going to take time. Decades, maybe.
If it happens in my lifetime, I’ll be at peace.

FYI, my entire family on my mother’s side lives in Wales. The Welsh are totally dependent upon the UK—England, in particular. Their economy exists almost exclusively on livestock farming and little else. Similar to Northern Ireland, the lack of high value-added employment options in Wales is reflected in their low economic output relative to other regions of the UK. Wales has zero military and would never consider independence. In reality, they benefited hugely from UK membership in the EU, as they”took” much more from the Union than they “gave.” Their situation is far different than Scotland’s.

I always enjoy hearing oppositional views; thanks for your response.

I’d like to request a huge influx of H-E-B’s in the DFW Metroplex.

Also are there any plans for Texas resident requirements prior to seceding? I assume there would have to be rules/laws in place to prevent the influx of millions of “temporary residents”.

The Welsh independence thing is going to be interesting. Support shot up 10% to 33% in the last year, and since 2017, there has been an increase in Anti-English graffiti. Boris has a problem because the entire UK is centered around London. There has to be investment in the Midlands, Wales, and the North in order for it to stay intact as a union.

Love you guys, but this is madness. It’s unattainable in the short term and would be unsustainable in the long term.

Returning to their native language and forgoing English is a big deal in Wales right now.
During my last visit just prior to COVID, I was shocked at how much of their signage has changed (from English to Welsh) since my last trip a couple of years back.

I agree with you: Watching the multiple, very fluid political situations unfold in the UK will make for very interesting people/policy watching over the next several years.
