Whoever it is, Scott, Thune, whoever they choose will most likely be the Senate Minority Leader; Mike Johnson will likely be the House Minority Leader, with possibly AOC as Speaker. And knowing Trump's personality I think this set up will suit him fine.
There's a reason Trump has been bellowing out "I don't care about the midterms." I think he prefers a real challenge, but with hardcore democratic opposition rather than Republicans who won't accept his SAVE act and Republicans supporting a Democratic housing bill.
