Another point. Most of America knows 2020 was stolen. FJB is way worse now and everyone knows he can’t win. But if he stays in it makes stealing that much harder and now everyone is looking for the steals too.
Replace him and they have a new chance to steal since it will be someone without voting history (for POTUS) and then they can steal easier since that person has no track record.

Also, the Dems won’t admit it, but absolutely know that Joe is useless, and it demoralizes them to the point of staying home or voting for RFK Jr. If you replace Joe with someone like Gabin Newsome, and you energize the base again.
