I personally fail to see how involving the government in a healthcare decision like abortion
quote:While I understand what you are saying, but dont you have to have a position somewhere, not year to year? Do these women understand what will happen if Harris wins and the Dems take the Senate. Harris is the most liberal politician we have, whe picked Walz for God sake. Every other Democrat would have picked Shapiro without hesitation.
But the fact the race is as close as it is, and that educated white women are likely going to decide this election, is proof the GOP is in the Stone Age while the democrats are taking advantage.

is any different from forcing vaccines on people
quote:What other reasons would they have?
the GOP should stop dragging themselves down with this issue for political reasons.

quote:With women around like those in the OP, I would hammer it every single day. Hell, people use it as if we are outlawing pap smears, ovarian cancer treatment, or mammograms. It is a procedure that kills an unborn human to make ones life more pleasant. It is not healthcare. I am fairly moderate and believe IVF is a gray area that can be debated, I believe rape or incest should be excluded and legal. I believe that if the fetus is confirmed incompatible with life abortions should be allowed.
It's Democrats who keep bringing it up and, more importantly

The number one issue that keeps them from fully embracing the GOP is their immovable stance on abortion
Abortion is evil

Ask yourself this question, as a Man has the govt in any shape every told you what you can and can't do with your body? Because for a lot of women that is what this boils down to.

Abortion is the socially acceptable opinion, and there’s a social price, especially among the upper middle class, to being against abortion.
But this a top down phenomenon. You could absolutely reverse it if you controlled the media.

I forget where it is in the video, but Baris and Barnes had a good discussion about this yesterday. They basically said, stop making Trump or the right pass purity tests, you're going to end up with more abortions than not if you take extreme positions. I believe this is something SFP and a few others have said.

Ask yourself this question, as a Man has the govt in any shape every told you what you can and can't do with your body? Because for a lot of women that is what this boils down to.
1. I was required to be educated according to standards set forth by the government. This was compulsory where my body was subjected to be in certain places at certain times and I had to take certain actions for years on end.
2. I had to register for selective service. I had to make my body available to the government for the draft in case of a war, even if it was a war I disagreed with.
3. I have had to participate in jury duty even though I didn't desire to participate due to other reasons at the time. My body was required to be in a courtroom even though I didn't want to be there.
4. I have had to participate in the Census even though I had other things I wanted to be doing. My body was required to fulfill certain duties by the government.
5. I was required to have vaccinations at certain points in my life, getting shots in my body even if I didn't want them. Let's not forget that the government mandated vaccinations during COVID which impacted a lot of men as well as women and children.
6. I have had to pay for licenses and permits for various activities that I wanted to do with my body. I have a right to keep and bear arms, but I had to submit myself to a background check, having my fingerprints taken and pay a fee to simply carry a firearm in most places (the government still says I can't carry everywhere), so I'm limited in how I can protect my body and the bodies of my loved ones.
7. I am required to pay taxes which takes away funds that might otherwise go towards my body. My body works hard for money and I would like to use the fruits of my labor the way I would like, but I can't because a large amount of those fruits are taken even before I am able to care for my body and the bodies of my family due to taxes.
There are countless examples on top of this where the government tells people what they can and can't do with their bodies. Certain drugs are banned. A 13 year old girl can get an abortion but a 13 year old boy can't legally smoke cigarettes, buy alcohol, vote, buy a gun, or get a tattoo if he wants to. People can't use their own bodies to harm others or take what doesn't belong to them.
Point being, there are many, many things that we are not legally allowed to do with our bodies or are forced to do with our bodies. Abortion is not unique in this.

I agree with that, at the same time, because it is a cornerstone moral issue, there should be no grey zone on how we see it.
And for practical reasons, we should be ruthless about pursuing pro natal policies. That goes hand in hand with closing the border and deporting the foreigners.
I don’t know if we’ve ever talked about it? But Nominalism is the root problem here. We’re dealing with the end results of a mistake we made several centuries ago.

But they see the issue not necessarily as one of a decision to have an abortion or not, but as a politician making a choice for them that they feel should be their’s to make, whatever that choice may be.
For such smart women, I don't understand them...
THIS HAS BEEN TAKEN OUT OF THE HANDS OF THE PRESIDENT AND THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT
Perhaps they can re-direct their ire toward local politicians.

"as a Man has the govt in any shape every told you what you can and can't do with your body?"
I responded with an affirmative "yes", in that I do not have the freedom in my own body to do as I wish in many different ways.
Perhaps you can clarify your question since a direct answer with multiple examples wasn't sufficient for you.
