Oh wow I fricking remember this. It was pure wild accusations without the “victim” literally altering evidence to fit the narrative (she wrote something before the trial in a yearbook that was used as evidence. What she wrote THEN was used to support amber accusations from decades ago - if I remember correctly.
It was essentially a dry run for what they did to do to Kavanaugh (but failed that time)

In any media discussions involving Roy Moore, it is little remembered by the MSM that Roy Moore won a 2022 jury verdict against the Democratic super-PAC that was behind the 2017 attack ad which accused Moore of sexual misconduct toward teenagers at the Gadsden Mall in the late 1970s. Moore was later awarded $8.2M in punitive damages. Last I heard, the ruling was on appeal.

I’m not sure about that but the primary reason that Moore emerged as an outsider candidate is because of the corrupt bargain made between Mitch McConnell and then Alabama Governor Robert Bentley and then Alabama AG Luther Strange.
Robert Bentley was under investigation for corruption and Luther Strange agreed not to pursue charges against Bentley in exchange for Bentley naming Strange as a replacement for Senator Jeff Sessions who Trump had appointed as Attorney General. Mitch McConnell brokered that deal.
Republican primary voters, fed up with this corrupt horse trading, voted for Moore as a form of retribution against this back-room deal. And then the political and media establishment worked in concert to sabotage Moore’s election chances.
Now, I hold no special brief for Roy Moore and I never once voted for the man. Yet Roy Moore was destroyed solely because he posed a threat to the hegemony of the UniParty®.

Yep. None of those attacks ever had any credibility.
