your mailbox is technically owned by the US government - tampering w mail is a federal offense

Truth is, the “don not call list” (as ineffective as it is) shifted marketing efforts to mailers in a big way

So, to answer your question- no, you don’t have a right to stop mailers from coming

and why would we want more government oversight and regulation?

Because requiring businesses to keep a “do not mail” list would be a huge burden, one that would affect mail houses and printers- the cost would be staggering, the easy to identify cost is the increased postal rates, but that is just the tip of the iceberg, it would also raise costs insofar as compiling lists and data management…

You get to pick/choose the tv channels to subscribe to...you get to pick/choose what forums to participate on here...why can't I pick/choose what to receive in the mail?

&, look at it this way...all the $, trees, gas, time, labor, etc. saved NOT producing/delivering things that are instantly trashed.
