Pleasantly surprised with the lack of Juneteenth on my social media feeds.

I was expecting today to be a miserable IG/FB day but I've seen only 1 or 2 posts regarding it. On another note, Memorial day seemed a little more patriotic than years past

Until last year I had never even heard the word "Juneteenth" or seen it in print.
Learned of it here.

Yesterday was hilarious, our community page had some dumbass Karen white hoe post, “Happy Juneteenth, I am so glad this is now a holiday and thankful to be living when it happened!” Next post is this black girl reminding her that Juneteenth was actually Saturday... not Friday. It made me feel good inside for this fake hoe to be reminded how full of shite she was

I’m just categorically opposed to more federal holidays. That they made it for Juneteenth doesn’t bother me in the slightest, and it’s probably as good a reason as any.
