quote:
3:21 Who knoweth the spirit of the sons of men, whether it, ascendeth, above,—or the spirit of the beast, whether it, descendeth, below, to the earth?
I don't know what translation this is, but it implies something different than the KJV
quote:
Ecclesiastes 3:21 Who knoweth the spirit of man that goeth upward, and the spirit of the beast that goeth downward to the earth?
Your translation suggest that we don't know whether the spirit of an animal goes up or down. The KJV states clearly that it goes down. There is an obvious discrepancy here.

Misreading and bad stories lead to Pope says animals can go to heaven.
Why are you getting so worked up over this statement?
Pope John Paul II believed animals possessed souls. Pope Paul VI said we would see our pets in heaven. They're just men offering their opinions on a subject they know little to nothing about. Just like the rest of us.

Oh for the love of God...
The thread was about yet another a-hole cop shooting a dog with little to no real provocation. The thread title was just a light play on the recent Pope thread.
Thread title changed so people can unrustle their religious jimmies. #LightenUpFrancis

because it is outragouesly misquoted, maybe it's not a big deal but anytime the media comes out and says that the Pope is changing teaching when he is really not it's frustrating.

Has anyone compiled a list of all the shitty things BRPD has done over the years? On a per capita basis this has to be one of the crappiest police departments in the nation. They force drunk people to drive cars so the can execute them, rape women in parks, murder family dogs for sport, and have allowed a man to be stabbed to death at the door of the 2nd precinct while they sat inside and did absolutely nothing.
I have friends whose house was broken into and robbed and the idiot thief accidentally left a magazine in the house with a partially filled out ss welfare application with his home address on it - the cops did nothing.
The BRPD are not police. Police are to protect and serve. BRPD are a bunch of moron lunatics with guns. THe entire department should be shut down and taken over by the state or the feds or someone NOT BRPD.

"The officer obviously felt he was in danger," Cole noted.
"The officer said there were no trees to hide behind and no way to avoid the dog," Cpl. McKneely added.
No trees to hide behind? Does this moron actually think that if a dog really wanted to kill him he could hide behind a tree and the dog wouldn't find him?
Jesus lord what kind of morons does the BRPD hire?
The pizza delivery driver in the story has probably felt threatened by dogs dozens or hundreds of times - and has he killed any of them?
