Within the confines of that construct, then no, it doesn't matter when Biden did his misdeeds.
I realize that's what the democrats are saying. I'm pointing out that his role as a former vice president is much more relevant than his role seeking the democratic nomination. Furthermore, his misdeeds are directly related to the Ukraine conversation. And, the timing of his misdeeds relate to his time as Vice President.
This is what I find kind of amazing. You are following the same line of thinking which is very flawed.

It doesn't make sense because Nunez, for example, is certainly willing to hammer Schiff and others very vocally. He's not pulling any punches. What Schiff is doing isn't stopping that.
Yet, this very obvious and clear point isn't being made. I don't get why.

Why do you keep blaming Republicans for this shite show? This is 100% Democrat political theater. The GOP are the only ones calling them out, and are doing an excellent job of it.

I would agree that Biden's attempt to bribe Ukrainian officials when he was VP is a more important consideration than his likely failed presidential run in 2020.
But since this is an impeachment hearing focused on Donald Trump requesting inflammatory information on Joe Biden it simply doesn't matter.
The Republicans on the panel are wisely attacking the testimony of the witnesses before them rather than wasting their limited allotted time focusing on Biden.
Schiff has already announced that the Republicans cannot call either Biden for testimony. Schiff would relish the GOP forgoing direct questions to the witness and spend their time ragging on Biden.

By this logic I can commit any crime and simply avoid prosecution by running for office of prosecutor.

I'm not sure who implied seeking office is a way to avoid a criminal investigation.
The DOJ can go at Biden with furry right now as he campaigns.
With regards to what may ultimately be articles of impeachment, what Biden did, does not matter.
