Every US president back to George HW Bush has opposed new settlements. Ever since Netanyahu took office in 2009, settlement construction skyrocketed. 15,000 new Israeli Jewish settlers moved into the west in 2016 alone.
Also, the resolution does not call for imposing sanctions on Israel if it fails to comply.

Good. Glad it passed. Whether you support Israel or not, as a sovereign nation they are breaking international law continuously with no consequences and refucing any chance of peace. The other side may not be perfect, but letting this mess go on as long as it has is the problem.
