Last night was a huge message that may well be drowned out by an influx of millions of voters.
You're right. It was a huge message, but it was just as big of a message to the GOP as it was to Obama. We'll see if the GOP hears/heeds that message or continues to fight its base.
Unfortunately, I see lots of compromise and crocodile tears from GOP leadership in our future. In other words, Obama will do what he wants via EOs, Boehner and McConnell will whine and cry about but do nothing, and we're gonna see a flood of illegals like nothing we have ever seen. Of course, they won't be illegals for long.
Welcome to the new America.

How about some facts about illegal immigration. If the list below is true, there is no easy answer. Its from Fiscal Times and is over a year old, but most likely still relevant.

$2.6 trillion
An estimate of costs that could result from putting roughly 10 million adult illegal immigrants on a guaranteed pathway to citizenship, made in 2007 by the Heritage Foundation.
$48.6 billion
The estimated cost to taxpayers of covering 3.1 million amnestied immigrants during the budget period 2014-2019, in which Medicaid expansion takes effect, according to the same source.

The annual cost of educating illegals and their offspring in this country, according to the Center for Immigration Studies.
$1.5 trillion
The amount that would be added to this country’s cumulative GDP over 10 years with a comprehensive immigration reform plan that includes legalization for all UIs currently living in the U.S., according to the Center for American Progress.
$4.5 billion to $5.4 billion
The amount of additional net tax revenue that would accrue to the federal government over 3 years if all current undocumented immigrants were legalized.
$23,482
The current cost of apprehending, detaining, processing, and transporting one individual in deportation proceedings.

Since the House holds the purse-strings, the Reps could choose not to fund whatever mechanism is required to carry out the EO.
But this EO would be directing ICE NOT to enforce certain laws against certain folks. Thus, they wouldn't be spending money anyhow. So how would a funding mechanism do any good? Force them TO SPEND MONEY enforcing the laws? Oh great, just like a bureaucrat needs help wasting taxpayer funds.

I'm pretty sure the Supreme Court would slap this down. From what I understand the President can't grant amnesty to a group it has to be specific individuals. Blanket amnesty would have to be through legislation

Or he can actually let congress do its job.....
