Moore elected by Etowah County with 62% of the vote in 1994

So a guy who had been banned from the local mall, and was a known sexual predator received 62% of the countywide vote for Circuit Judge in 1994... and was the first Republican elected in Etowah County since reconstruction... seems legit

He was destroyed twice in elections previously and was the sitting circuit judge after being appointed 2 years earlier. But that doesn't fit your narrative.

So let me get this straight then Roy was :
"destroyed" in two previous elections
banned from the local mall
known as a sexual predator
was appointed as a Circuit Judge by the governor of Alabama in 1992 and won a 1994 election by almost two-thirds of the vote, in a county that had not elected a Republican for over 100 years... still seems legit
