Ah....so by all means go on record: Is it your contention that EVERY MEDICAL DOCTOR in the country is more knowledgeable than ANY PLANT WORKER in the country ?

Lo tucking l . Do you really view this as a serious question? Yes my contention that 99.9999% of medical doctors are more knowledgeable about medical matters than tucking plant workers. Do you really not see how mine numbingly tucking stupid you sound.? Like should have a conservartorship taking care of you stupid???

But the wide score ranges charted in this particular graphic at least seem reasonable. Median MD IQ's are high. So it's interesting seeing posters here calling MD's "retard" or "ignorant" or "mush brain" instead of engaging their comments.

I don't keep track of the retarded/ignorant scoreboard, so I'll take your word that some MDs have been subjected to that invective like everybody else here. I was actually responding to an MD (or med student) that was denigrating the intellect of those posting with ideas different from his.

I happen to know a couple of physicians who've been targeted with those sort of invectives here. For the invective hurlers, challenging those folks to a one-on-one IQ demo would be about like inviting an online adversary to the local Sonic, only to realize the invited "guest" is Tyson Fury.

You don't think this would depend on who the "challenger" was? You come across like a pretty reasonable guy, so I'm sure you know better. Sure, take your average MD and Joe Six-pack, and you make a point - but is it a point worth making?

Are their non-physicians who know more about cardiology than me? I’m sure there are. Are there non-physicians who know more about infectious diseases and the clinical manifestations of COVID19 than me, especially in this thread? I very much doubt it.

And NC_Tigah is toying with the dude not letting on that he is a physician also. Pretty comical to follow. There is plenty to distrust with the way this whole pandemic has played out but this place has gotten almost dangerous if people are actually coming here for medical advice.

Can you give me your opinion on Remdesivir?

Very narrow window of efficacy if it works at all. The data is ok very early in disease, but 5-7 days out from symptom onset the evidence of benefit is minimal at best. Personally my sense is it doesn’t do much for most who get it given when they get it. It’s reasonably safe however, relatively rare liver toxicity and metabolites can cause an issue if your kidneys really suck (we generally avoid it at CrCl less than 20-30). It can also cause relative bradycardia but this generally asymptomatic and heart block is rare.

Thanks for your response. What about kidney failure and fluid in lungs some have mentioned here, some have called it a killer

Acute renal failure with dialysis requirements in critically ill covid patients usually signals the point of no return. Surviving multi organ failure secondary to Covid is uncommon unfortunately, the hypoxia is just so profound that you aren’t adequately oxygenating your tissues.

This, except that many medical professionals spoke out against this. Most were censored, ignored, or shunned.
