If anyone did the slightest amount of research they'd realized that Trump is the weak-link when he's on the ballot and his hand-picked candidates routinely lose or underperform other Republicans in swing districts/states.
The only reason Trump won in 2016 was because of Jill Stein. Trump won MI, PA, and WI by fewer than 78K combined votes. Stein took over 132K combined votes away from Hillary in those states. Without Jill Stein, Trump would've lost all 3 states and lost the election as he would've finished with less than 270 Electoral Votes.
2016 was a red-wave year. Republicans won the Popular Vote in the House, in the Senate (minus CA, as no Republican was on the ballot), in Gubernatorial Races, and picked up control of State Legislatures. Meanwhile, Trump lost the Popular Vote by nearly 3 million and 2.1% and needed a far-left spoiler candidate just to squeak by the 2nd most hated Presidential candidate in American history. He underperformed other Republicans pretty much everywhere.
In 2020, Democrats restricted Green Party ballot access in the swing states. Howie Hawkins, the Green Party candidate, was reduced to a write-in campaign and he received fewer than 15K votes in MI, PA, and WI.
But yes, it's a total mystery how he lost and why the majority of the country doesn't like him.

As I recall Ron Johnson, not a super popular Senator in WI, got almost 80K more votes than Trump while on the same ballot.
