House Republican Delegation Chairman Rep. Blake Miguez (R - Erath) tells WAFB’s Lester Duhé the petition effectively ends the public health emergency that the governor declared earlier this year and restricts Gov. Edwards from issuing any new orders for a period of seven days. The petition would direct the governor to issue a proclamation order canceling all of his previous proclamations, which includes all the mandates for businesses and citizens across the state, according to Miguez. He says some of the mandates Gov. Edwards would have to cancel include the statewide mask mandate requirements; capacity limits on restaurants and bars, and other restrictive measures used by state agencies to restrict business activities.

And people should sign the petition to recall John Bel Edwards. There are parish captains collecting signatures every weekend.

The problem with most politicians is they think they don't have to answer to anyone. It's mostly do as I say and not as I do.

I am for the recall just for the above statement.

That’s nothing but a pile of hot air....want something done? Sign the recall petition, and then vote all of these cowards out of power.

Dumb bel Edwards was on whining and crying like a 2 year old child that someone took his favorite toy. He said other than bars no business owners are closed. Folks this clown doesn’t get it. Keep after your local representatives to strip this guys power.

So he shouldn’t mind this petition then.

While the act is quite late, it is better than nothing and is completely legal and enforceable. JBE knows that if the citizens are given full freedom again, they will take it and never go back. He won’t be able to enact his restrictions again.

You obviously didn't read it.

The legislature ended the state of emergency with the petition. Of course, JBE won't sign, but that's a formality.

In other news, I saw that there is now a recall LaToya petition starting up in Orleans Parish.

So in a week he can re-issue them?

JBE filed suit against the "LouISISana" Legislature, Speaker of the House of La and House of Representatives.

Judge Billy Morvant was assigned the case.
