I'm leaning towards the possibility or idea of shooting Kirk being talked about amongst a group of friends/online acquaintances and between the boyfriend and the shooter. I think, right now......subject to change later, that this began as a sort of twisted fantasy within the group. The shooter decided to make it real, maybe without initially telling the boyfriend.

That would explain leaving a note to a person who should have otherwise been in the know. It would also explain the reported shock of the boyfriend after finding out (if investigators believe it was legit shock).

Just theories.

One thing I've noticed is that mentally ill individuals or those who appear to be possessed often express their thoughts in writing, whether through drawings, manifestos, or, in this case, short notes. It's interesting, but it's a pattern I've observed in some of these cases.
