Unelected bureaucrats may be an expert in their field but I have met and dealt with many who don't see past their 'field' of expertise.
I won't name names but when trying to develop policy that has the least impact of the public everything must be considered. Sure we can make everything a peaceful pleasant Utopia but can we actually afford it?
How many will lose their jobs/careers ?
How much will this cause this service/product to increase in price?
Will this wipe out a service or product ?
Will a person lose the use of their property?
And so on...
