We'll damn, G. What's your ideal model?
Posted on 5/3/14 at 12:06 am to CollegeFBRules
I don't have an ideal model. I'd prefer if governments stop stealing from me and others. That would be great. I don't know if it would be objectively better but I sure would like it.

He's going into his one word, doesn't offer a worthy rebuttal mode.
I now remember why I rarely engage him.

So then how do you organize a government that cannot tax its citizenry?

I don't organize a government.

You've really moved the debate forward, articulated your thoughts, and gave the rest of us something to ponder, G.

Why are there currently no societies based on anarchy that serve as a model for a better way to organize society?
I heard there's a few roads being built in Somalia right now.

Somalia is not an anti-statist society. Somalia is an example of a collapsed state.

Both of those are states of anarchy, whether they want to be or not.

But at least the central government isn't "stealing" from them, so they can sleep tight knowing that.

My rebuttal: That seems like a horrible idea.
Your rebuttal: Well, you can't tell me how EVERYTHING would run if we didn't point guns at people. Plus, pointing guns and stealing from people has led to some good stuff (I'll just ignore the absolutely horrible and atrocious things it has led to).
My rebuttal: No, I can't tell you how everything would work.
Your response: Well, you haven't advance the argument, you doody-headed hack.

I will agree with this here. For any anarchist society to succeed, respect and advocation for property rights has to be at a very high premium and there's none in Somalia. Now the thing is, this isn't because people are being evil, because it's human nature and expected when there's no venues of repercussion.
Also, we barely have our property rights enforced under a gov't, what makes you think an anarchist society would be any better on that front?
