Assange's sin wasn't his supposed(but never proven) hacking of the DNC, his sin was embarrassing the state department, military and intelligence agencies with his release of the Afghan Papers that showed what an utter corrupt joke the state department/military/intelligence agencies are.

It is hard to imagine where we might be if those two had not done the right thing. They are true Patriots, willing to risk it all to provide US citizens with the truth.

That is what I remember. Snowden was a cia agent before working for the nsa. Cia and nsa don't play well with each other.
