Agreed. He’s a socialist (and too much of an apologist for Palestine) but I appreciate his world view. We want the same thing unlike most modern Ds.

Auron Macintyre (who is wildly underrated) stated recently that he didn’t appreciate being called a conservative or republican. He said there are people who fundamentally want the same thing. It may be everybody being healthy and prosperous via socialism or via capitalism. The difference is that there are people who do not want everybody to be prosperous via socialism or capitalism.

I can find common ground more with a socialist who wants a good working wage for Americans that doesn’t want to trans the kids more than I can a nice Republican megadonor who wants to import labor to drive wages down and donates to the local drag show.

This is where MAGA and the Jimmy Dore’s of the world (populism) could team up and become an insurmountable force politically. But they’d both have to give/take a little.
