i applaud the Trump administration for this bill. Hopefully it will trickle down to the state level. You can't even get a book at the EBR parish prison. Dominoes and cards are not allowed anymore. State prison's have cut out so many programs and they wonder why prison systems have a revolving door.

Excellent point. Seriously. Things in the court room need serious change too. How certain crimes are sentenced is a large part of the problem to begin with.

If people cant see why back end solutions are more favorable to certain interests, then not much reasonable discussion can be had. Sentancing reform would cost the tax payer nothing.

Not "front end" enough.
Teach the dumb nobs why their street culture and values suck. Teach them to be responsible fathers and not indifferent sperm launchers. Start there and see if it helps.
Just my opinion..others may feel differently.

Yeah....no.
Actually, committing the crime is the problem to begin with. Don't do it.

Much like DACA, I don't see the Democrats going for this. Given the recent conversion of Kanye West, there is no way the Democrats allow President Trump to make more inroads with the black community.

They will say that it is not enough, and ask for some very unreasonable concessions that benefit minorities only. Then, when the Republicans don't go for it, the Democrats will try to put the blame on the R's and say that they hate blacks and other minorities and want them all to rot in prison.
