If you're referring to the so-called Right, it's a form of self-serving, selective cognition in just casually dismissing the very real possibility that it could also happen to their boy DeSantis.

Were he perceived as someone who is a direct threat to the established network, and who upon taking office would clean it out from top to bottom, but with particular focus on the "security" agencies.

If it doesn't happen in any way to DeSantis, it only means that he's not considered a clear and present danger to their sandbox.
