There's something to be said about shadow interventionism, but...

The Iranian free people will feel more of a sense of accomplishment and more of a desire to enact real, positive changes if they rise up, conquer and handle it on their own without knowing in the back of their minds that it wouldn't have happened without western Intel ops.

We have the power to provide subliminal suggestions and affect outcomes without even a hint of direct involvement.
