If the GOP insist on blind acceptance of the process, Trump should decline, thus making the debates a battle of runner-up's and meaningless and the RNC powerless. (without the distinct possibility that they'll rig the primaries)

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I think I remember Trump polling around 5% before the first debate. It wasn’t until after he put on a show on the debate stage that he began to really take off.

I agree with you that we should be encouraging more debate and allow for the presentation of as many ideas as possible. Not limit them.

You want it to be a Miss America pageant and the Uniparty to select the candidates. I want it to be about potentially good candidates so "We the People" can decide and that the criteria supports the latter.

The debates should be for actual contenders to distinguish themselves, not some sort of open tryout.:
