Is the "emergency" provision potentially being used by Democrats a blessing in disguise?

Flash forward to the 2020 general debates.
The dem nominee challenges Trump on his use of the emergency to build the wall.
Trump turns around and asks them if they'll use the designation for gun rights/abortion/climate change, etc. Or huell, maybe in the dem primary in order to win they pledge to use it.
There is no right answer for the Dems. Just the hint of it will turn off independents immediately.
NNancy is helping sink her own party one quote at a time.

Yep. Nancy’s threat yesterday will only make Dem gun owners cringe and either stay home or hold their nose and vote Trump if they keep this up.
