Is it possible to un-brainwash the brainwashed???
Tendencies, experiences, training, etc. amplified through the first two decades of life are extremely hard to unwind. Which gets at influences in 1°/2°/3° US education over the past 3 decades.
US children/teens are no longer taught HOW to think, how to question, how to analyse, or how to innovatively problem solve. Instead, they are now taught WHAT to think.
It is the only way premises like imminent ClimateChange-related coastal flooding threats can be forwarded without being laughed out of the classroom.
Young Americans are taught the ecocentric importance of peer-influenced groupthink alignment. Orwellian rote trumps logic. If logic is attempted, vicious ostracization follows. So there is a logic-capacity impasse rendering any "brainwash" deprogramming almost impossible.

Those people are absolute nuts, but ironically, not even some MAGA loyalists can be "unbrainwashed".
We have all been gaslit by our respective "side" to believe no gray area exists. BOTH sides want and need to slam tight the window on expanding the 'Overton Window' on "acceptable" theories and realities.

Well stated.
Problem with institutional programming however includes we adults as well.
